Using the Canvas learning management system, this e-learning course was implemented asynchronously to an online spiritual community to help support their stress management. A Design Based Research (DBR) model was used as part of the fulfillment for a Master of Science in Learning Experience Design and Educational Technology Degree.
Go through the entire e-learning course designed in Articulate Storyline and read through the DBR report to see the effectiveness of the module on the community. Also included below is a screenshare video walking the research participants through the navigation of the course within the LMS.
The first research question for this DBR study sought to quantitatively measure how the use of an e-learning solution impacts the learners ability to make their personal spiritual practice into a daily habit. As can be seen in the chart, there was a mean growth of 39% between pre and post-surveys, with all students moving from below to meeting or exceeding mastery.
The second research question sought to measure how does the use of an e-learning solution about creating a regular spiritual practice impact the learners motivation to allocate time daily, within their hectic pace of life, to make their spiritual practice a priority. When asked, the participants indicated an 82% growth in how often they engaged in their spiritual practice after going through the course material.
